Caring for LGBTQ+ Youth: Understanding Diverse Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Expression (SOGIE), and the Impact of Affirmative Care

Caregiver support and affirmation has a significant positive impact on LGBTQ+ youth health and well-being. Caring for LGBTQ+ Youth offers kinship, adoptive and foster caregivers foundational knowledge and guidance on diverse sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. This workshop provides a safe space for self-reflection on bias and to discuss myths and misinformation so caregivers can more effectively parent and better understand, support, and affirm their LGBTQ+ youth.
